They are closing this location on Tuesday. I loved it and am torn up about losing such a great gym that is so convenient. Thank God Miles is staying with them and going to the Cumberland location. He is worth the drive, BEST trainer ever!!!

This is one of the cleaner, nicer Bally clubs in the south suburbs. The aerobics room has a wooden floor which is great for dancing etc. The machines are kept in good working order. There's no track or pool but plenty of cardio machines. I've never had to wait in line for a machine.

This location has warm people greeting you at the door, knowledgeable trainers, great cardio and weight machine area, a juice/retail shop and really good group exercise classes. Membership to the gym is totally affordable! Personal Training can be a bit expensive, but they also offer Trio, where instead of being one-on-one they take small groups of around 3 people and do the training. Trio is much better priced and still as effective. Classes are fun and unique, such as Kwando and Capoeira. Makes exercising fun and motivating.

I have been a Ballys member since 1989, I am an avid gym goer and have enjoyed Ballys in several cities where I have lived (Cincinnati, Atlanta, Miami, Baltimore). Just recently relocated to NJ and this gym is closest to my residence. It is over-crowded and filled with people who have NO etiquette or NO knowledge on how to behave in a gym! Lose the phones, wipe off your equipment, rack your weights...juice heads slamming weights because they want people to look at them, all annoying. I guess you get what you pay for, if my membership didn't transfer with me each time i moved, I would not go to this gym. Check it out before you buy a membership

They closed in December 2008. The place was always full of non-paying patrons let in by the staff so it's not a surprise it closed. Absolutely NO Management!

More spacious and lighter than the Alemany Pit Bally. No childcare. Seem to be enough trainers on the floor. Group exercise has deteriorated badly over the last two years. Not as clean as it used to be since they now only have janitors after hours. I've used everything except personal training and yoga. Like most gyms, it's up to you to get a workout. Crowded during the evening, so you have to be flexible about what you use. There don't seem to be any especially interesting or challenging classes. Alemany's are better. The members and staff are friendly and helpful. The place is cheap, fairly clean and they maintain the equipment. I'd recommend it for people on a budget and advise them to come during off-hours if they can and don't expect much from the classes. Ask the membership folks to find a deal that's affordable for you. Gotta disagree with the reviewers who found it pricey or the location "dangerous.' It's between Safeway and Long's in a small, decently lit mall.

Ballys is great for people looking for a cheaper gym membership and who want to work out without feeling a like they're at a meat market. The staff is really friendly, and they have great classes (Step & Sculpt especially). The weight room is a little old and crowded tho. Also you won't be pressured to upgrade your membership or pay for personal training.

I won a free month membership to this gym from a promotion outside where I had to guess my weight. The gym is fairly large, but the best part is the staff. I was able to use a personal trainer for a short period of time, and it was amazing. This man knew everything about fitness, and although I do not still go to that particular gym, I learned a great deal about myself and my workouts. The only problem I have is that it is a little expensive.
